release info:
“Dream Chamber” by Ane Lan at
Gallery MC, New York
November 16th and 17th at
7 pm.
The
performance
“Dream Chamber” uses elements
from theater and stage performance
and applies them to a gallery space setting,
seeking to incorporate the personal experiences of audience members.
The main theme
of the performance is the
philosophical claim
that the modern human
being is increasingly objectified based on media
attention and commercial
value. The performance will argue that the
modern
human being has assumed
the traditional feminine role as object.
But if the “feminine
condition” includes everyone, then who is the dominating
subject?
