Partners in Crime explores the interdependencies between artists and their collaborators. Curators Louky Keijsers, Mariely Lopez Bermudez, Sara Reisman, and Elena Sorokina have selected artists based on their overlapping curatorial perspectives and mutual interests. Rather than making individual claims to artists, the curators have identified artists and ideas that they have in common, especially artists whose work involves intense collaborative processes.

The notion of collaboration is widely interpreted to include artistic duos, one-time projects that engage communities outside of the art world, and artistic approaches that go against traditional notions of authorship through appropriation, alter egos, and petty theft.
