"Vardar Film" produced the feature films "Black Seed", directed by Kiril Cenevski, which won many awards such as "Golden Arena" at the Pula Film Festival, 1971 for best direction, "Golden Arena" for the best actor was given to Darko Damevski, as well as "Golden Wreath" for the best debu-director.
In Moscow, the film won the "Golden Phoenix" for the best debu-director, and "Vardar Film" won a special diploma for affirmation of young directors. In 1972 "Black Seed" was awarded with the prize "Laceno d'Oro" at the Film Festival in Avellino. In 1972 the film also became Yugoslav nominee for the Academy Award "Oscar". The director Kiril Cenevski and the actor Darko Damevski were decorated with the republic recognition "11th of October". Darko Damevski was also awarded with "Big Charter" for leading role in the same film at the Festival of Actors' Acomplishments held in Nish in 1971.
