TIME TBD, November 2004
Miss Stone is the first Macedonian colour feature film. It was "Miss Stone", directed by Zhika Mitrovic. The next year, at the film festival in Pula, the actor Petre Prlicko won the "Golden Arena" for the main male role, Olga Spiridonovic won the "Golden Arena" for the leading female role, and Vasilie Popovic-Cico won the prize for art direction. The film "Miss Stone" was also honored with Diplomas at the film festivals in Edinburgh (1960) and New Delhi (1961). The release of Miss Stone, the fourth Macedonian film, meant a new genre break-through, expected and announced since the beginnings of the Macedonian cinematography. Miss Stone was both the first Yugoslavian and the first historical epic that was made in color and “cinemascope” technique in the former Yugoslavian cinematography at the time.
