Duo Denicija

Thursday, October 9th from 7 pm: Due Denicija featuring guitar players Anastasija Mileska and Aleksandar Andrijevski

Duo Denicija is an internationally acclaimed classical guitar duo formed by Anastasija Mileska and Aleksandar Andrijevski, hailing from Macedonia. Since forming, they have captivated audiences across Europe with their evocative soundscapes, and diverse and innovative repertoire ranging from baroque masterworks to contemporary music. 

Duo Denicija, have garnered significant recognition by performing in various prestigious venues, and by winning top prizes at international competitions, such as first place at the International Competition “Ida Presti” (2018) and first place at the International Competition “Nordhorn” (2019), as well as winning the special prize for the best interpretation of the set piece at the Iserlohn Guitar Festival (2025). 

They are the founders and organizers of the “Ohrid Guitar Days”, which offers masterclasses, workshops, and performances for young guitarists. Anastasija and Aleksandar are both teaching at the Music School of the City Bochum, in Germany. 

On tonight’s program they will present music written for their duo by renowned Macedonian composers that draws inspiration from the rich heritage of Macedonian folklore, weaving traditional rhythms and melodies with contemporary classical guitar techniques, as well as the piece that had earned them the special prize at the Iserlohn Guitar Festival.
