New York City has always played a significant part of the Skopje Jazz Festival during its impressive 33 years of existence. The capital of the Republic of Macedonia has welcomed virtually every creative artist, working in the most fertile environment for improvised music in the entire world. On this occasion, NYC will welcome Skopje Jazz Festival, with an evening of excellent music, art/design, and fine Macedonian wine.

Among The Stars is the second release for acoustic jazz vocalist Kelley Suttenfield. Known for her “passionate delivery that can penetrate hearts” (JazzReview), once again she embarks on a musical exploration – this time traversing through jazz and singersongwriter territories, and landing squarely in the space between.

Circuit Bridges and Stony Brook University are partnering to present an evening of electroacoustic music. Drs. Margaret Schedel and Daniel Weymouth of Stony Brook University have curated new media works from their series Aural Architectures that will be presented alongside selections from Circuit Bridges’ recent call for works.

Circuit Bridges is collaborating with George Brunner and Brooklyn College on a concert that spans the East River and presents a diverse array of electroacoustic music by composers in and around New York City.

Margaret Lancaster joins forces with Vancouver-based composer/mixed media wizard Bob Pritchard to create an evening of multimedia theatrical works for flute(s) and interactive electronics. Throughout the one-hour show, Lancaster will interweave works by Karlheinz Stockhausen, Paul Steenhuisen, Arthur Kampela, Adrian Knight (world premiere), as well as Pritchard into a narrative that follows the desecration and restoration of the soul.

September 25, 2014 (NEW YORK, NEW YORK) Circuit Bridges is launching its second season by collaborating with Arts NOW at North Carolina State University to present a program featuring electroacoustic music from New York and North Carolina.

The graphic works by Aleksandar Jovanovski Mijak are an excited gaze into the Archetype. His works, through all elements of their creation, which is to say, through the drawing, the light and dark, the surface, colour and composition, reveal his Creative graphic interpretation of the “Collective Unconscious”.

Regarding the title of the project, the author as an inspiration uses the word “Bruja” (in Spanish) which means “witch”, however unlike most European and close cultures where this word has often been perceived negatively and almost "heretically” (under the influence of the dominant male hierarchy that determines the stereotypes of women and female position), the same word in the Spanish-American culture and tradition has a completely different meaning.

Chamber music cello duo Pejic-Kotevski has been performing for five years. It consists of two distinguished Macedonian cellists – Bozidar Pejic and Aleksandar Kotevski, both of them principals of the cellists with the orchestra of the Macedonian Opera and Ballet. So far, their fruitful cooperation has produced several concerts both in Macedonia and abroad. The duo has performed in Skopje (at the “Autumn Music Festivities”) in Bitola (at “BitFest”) in Kumanovo, Veles, Negotino in the Republic of Macedonia and at the international festival “Constantinus” in Nis and the “Cultural Summer” in Paracin in the Republic of Serbia. The repertoire of the duo consists of a variety of genres, both from classical and contemporary film and popular music.

The repetitive motifs create a visual matrix and present a dialectical process of transition from traditional to contemporary and representation to abstraction. He takes The Royal Tongan Motifs into a new realm of PACIFIC MOANA ART that emanates, permeates and emits Light and Energy

Circuit Bridges is a monthly electroacoustic concert series, held at Gallery MC in New York City. The July 24th concert, titled “Reinforcing Bridges”, is the final concert of the first season. It reflects the concept of the first concert from the season, which built a bridge from New York City composers to composers from around the world. This return home features music from the inaugural call for works, which received over 190 submissions. The music selected for this concert represents a variety of styles and ideas employed by living electronic music composers.

“Organisms II' is a dynamic installation piece owing its polymorphous properties to the laws of physics of the fluids. The tinted liquid from the medical transfusion bags flows through the channels carved in the small Plexiglas plates which are shaped reminiscent of capillaries of the organism’s bloodstream; then it drops over the small piles of toilet paper, thus creating color dots of different sizes.

Cut the Strings is an artwork that continues the concept of Miov’s previous work Pull the Strings:

Same Sex Marriages is a celebration of love, happiness, and hope. The show presents couples in sharp focus - some fully embracing traditional wedding iconography; others subverting iconographic conventions from within, using humor and unexpected composition to appropriate an age-old institution in their own terms. The result is a visible oscillation between a jubilant acceptance and utter defiance of conventions. With its iconic monuments and buildings, the city offers a beautiful background. The outcome is an appropriation of the public landscape for personal use, creating images that are truly personal, yet transcend a personal narrative to become representative of an era.

From Sitting to Standing will present music in both a traditional concert hall setting (where the audience is seated) and in a underground music club setting (where the audience is standing). The audience will move between different rooms in the gallery at specific points in the show to transition between the concert hall and music club settings.

In the bigger, more complex, with no way out labyrinth of our urban “ existence”, Tatjana Maneva set off courageously, self - abandoning, with faith and persistence of a Nabokov, and with an Orphean light in the eye, on a journey of which existence we do not know till the very end.

The new album of the Tavitjan Brothers presents a selection of the most famous pieces by the great classic composers Bach, Mozart, Chopin, Tchaikovsky, Liszt, Khachaturian, Rachmaninov, arranged in modern jazz manner, irregular rhythms and rich improvisational skills, making this material a unique and beautiful listening experience.

The third annual Ladies First production draws from the fascinating connection between sports and music. In our upcoming production, Ladies First will offer a personal reflection on various aspects of this connection, from comparative performance of the musical piece with a football (soccer) match through explorations of sports which are traditionally performed and rehearsed to music–such as skating, and capoeira, to setting music to a live beat of a ping pong match, and much more. It will be an evening-long celebration of the two not-so-different performance forms, which touch so many lives around the globe through the universal language of passion and lifelong commitment.

Goddess Chronicles is a collection of intimate and introspective interpretations of Goddesses of different cultures though voices of different art disciplines. This multimedia show is performed in various lengths and presented by varying casts, a full version being a set of 9 goddess-vignettes for a cast of 20.

On Saturday, March 15th at 7pm, Composers Concordance presents its contemporary music and art event 'Pitches at an Exhibition II - The Ides of March' at the innovative Gallery MC in NYC.

When one watches most films or television programs, half or more of the communication is the sound, not the picture. For most films, a blind person hearing only the sound will understand more than a deaf person watching the same film (without subtitles). Yet many beginning digital cinema makers tend to focus on the “shots” and other visual aspects and not worry about the sound. Thus many of these low-budget or no-budget digital films suffer from poor sound quality that weakens the film.

Having on mind our social role and the role of the poster facing great challenge towards the cultural needs for the global problems and pointing the issues with a possible visual solution, we have created a short list selection of 50 poster which include the 10 finalist of each year.
