Bio:

Marija Vrskova was born in Bitola, Macedonia, where she finished her primary and secondary music education. She continued her education at the Academy of Music in Skopje in the class of professor Todor Svetiev. Marija graduated in 1997 with the highest grade CUM LAUDE. She continued her studies and in 2001 she graduated as master in music.

Marija has taken part in many international competitions, winning numerous prizes; the most important being the 3rd prize on the International Competition for Young Pianist in Rome (Italy), several 1st prizes on the republic competitions and two 3rd prizes in the National Competitions in ex-Jugoslavia. 

Marija for three years was representative of Macedonia on the concert tours of the JMWO Orchestra. She has performed with the Macedonian Youth Orchestra and the Chamber Orchestra of Bitola. She regularly performs as soloist with the National Philharmonic Orchestra in Macedonia. 

She established herself as a very respected chamber musician, performing in many countries:
Macedonia, Croatia, Albania, Bulgaria, The Netherlands, Turkey, Germany, Poland, United Kingdom, Ukraine, Russia, Italy, USA, Greece; and with many well-known musicians as Stefan Milenkovic, Monika Leskovar and Ino Mirkovic. As a founder of the contemporary music ensemble Alea she has very important role of the promotion of contemporary music and has given many premieres of new works at home and internationally.

Marija is one of Macedonia’s most active musicians and she is very regularly seen on the stages of the best festivals in the country such as: “Ohrid Summer Fest”, “Days of Macedonian Music“, “Heraclea Nights“, and the music competition “Ohrid Pearls”; where the international jury awarded her with the special prize for the best piano accompaniment, crowning her long musical career.

 

Macedonian violinist Vladimir Kostov studied and earned his Master’s degree at the Faculty of Music in Skopje in the class of prof. Mihajlo Kufojanakis. He has attended masterclasses and lessons with Sihana Badivuku, Blagoja Dimchevski, Cornelia Bronzetti, Irina Bochkova, Natalia Prischepenko and others.

Vladimir Kostov  has been selected several times to be a member of the JMI World Orchestra, taking part in the orchestra’s tours in Europe, USA, Canada and Asia, playing in some of the world’s most renowned concert halls. He was also a member of the East-West Orchestra in Altenburg (Germany), and in the period 2000-2004 he was one of the violin tutors of the CEI orchestra. 

Chamber music is his great passion and he has been the leader of various chamber orchestras and ensembles among which the contemporary music ensemble “Con Tempora”, the baroque chamber studio “Bachus”, “Brevis” quartet, “VAM” piano trio, the chamber orchestra of the Macedonian Philharmonic and the Chamber orchestra of Jeunesses Musicales Macedonia and is the founder of the piano trio “VAM”. He has attended chamber music master classes led by the world famous Medicci quartet (Sweden), Artemis quartet (Germany), Miro quartet (USA). As a soloist he has appeared with the Macedonian philharmonic and the Chamber orchestra of the Macedonian philharmonic performing in Macedonia, Ukraine, Germany, Great Britain, Serbia, Bulgaria, Croatia, Poland etc.. He was a soloist and concert master in the international  ,,No Borders Orchestra’’ .

Vladimir Kostov is a concert master of the Macedonian Philharmonic Orchestra and profesor at the Academy of Music Art in Skopje.He is a founder of the festival for talented violinistis “Violin Fest”.
