Duo Kirovski

DUO KIROVSKI was established in 1993. The Duo has had many concerts in Croatia (Zagreb, Osijek, Rijeka, Pula), Poland (Warsaw, Lodz), Bulgaria (Sofia, Plovdiv) North Cyprus, Montenegro (Podgorica), Switzerland, Serbia (Belgrade, Novi Sad, Vrnjacka Banja), Italy (Trieste, Firenze) and Macedonia („Skopje Summer Festival“, „Ohrid Summer Festival“, „Days of Macedonian Music“, „Synthesis – 20th Century Music Festival“).

In 1997 the Duo specialized in chamber music at the “European Mozart Academy” in Warsaw, trained in solo and chamber music by G.Takacs, G.Zhislin, P.Szabo, J.Rohman, G.Samoliotov, P.Luckas-Graf, and has attended a masterclass for violin sonatas in Laussane, Switzerland with Pierre Amoyal and Pavel Gililov.

In 1998 the duo won the special prize PREMIO SPECIALE “Iniziativa Centro Europea” at the 3rd International Competition for Chamber Music in Treste, Italy. In 2003 they received the „Golden Lute“ award for „best concert in 2003“ from the Association of Music Artist’s of Macedonia – SMUM.

Duo Kirovski has published 3 CD’s. Their repertoire includes works from clasical to 20th century music, including over 40 sonatas for violin and piano. Numerous Macedonian composers have dedicated new compositions for Duo Kirovski resulting in world premieres of works by D.Buzarovski, V.Nikolovski, D.Temkov, T.Bojadziev and E.Danajloska.

In 2011, Ljubisha Kirovski has been appointed as President of the Society of Music Artists in Macedonian (SMUM).

Ljubisha KIROVSKI completed his musical education at the “Sts Cyrilus & Methodius” University – Faculty of music art in Skopje where he obtained his BA and MA degrees with the highest marks and special merit cum laude under professor Zoran Dimitrovski.

L.Kirovski has performed in Macedonia and on stages of Sarajevo, Budapest, Germany, Croatia, Turkey, as a soloist, chamber musican and concert master. He has won numerous awards and received honors for violin and chamber music

He has performed with the Macedonian Philharmonic Orchestra performing: Paganini – Violin Concertos No1, No2, Wieniawski – Violin Concerto No1, Khachaturian – Violin Concerto (Skopje, Sofia, Sarajevo). He performed all six sonata’s from E.Isaye on one concert. He has performed with the St.Petersburg Chamber Orchestra (Mozart – Violin Concerto No5), Mendelsohn – Violin Concerto in d minor [on 6 concerts in Sweden).

Kirovski was a concertmaster at the Macedonian National Opera, and Macedonian Philharmonic Orchestra. Now he is a professor at the Faculty of Music Art in Skopje, and leader of the “Gajdov” String Quartet.

Since 2005 he also performes works for viola.

Maja SHUTEVSKA-KIROVSKA completed her musical education at the Academy of Music Art,University of Skopje,where she obtained her BA and MA degreeswith the highest marks and special merit cum laude under professor Todor Svetiev She sspecialized piano and chamber music at the European Mozart Academy. She gave a many concert’s in the Republic [Skopje Summer Festival, Interfest-Bitola Day’s of Macedonian Music etc], and abroad[Belgrade,Budapest ,Croatia, Italy]She is a Soloist with the Macedonian Philharmonic orchestra (Beethoven Concerto No1, Ravel-Concerto G-major.] ,And with orchestra of Musical Youth She has won honors for piano and chamber musicShe got the fourth place at the Piano compet. In San Bartolomeo – Italy. She take part in many piano seminars with prof[A.Valdma,I.Endo,V.Krpan etc]Now she is a professor at the music Secondary School Ilija Nikolovski-Luj,in Skopje
