Humanitarian assistance to families from flooded areas
The heavy rainfalls have caused floods in the populated areas and agricultural regions in Skopje and Tetovo. The floods unfortunately have caused human losses as well as big material damages to the population for which adequate measures were taken in order to reduce the consequences.
During the last 3 days Macedonian Red Cross teams have been included in the activities for support and evacuation of the citizens and there was distribution of humanitarian relief consisted of 5500 food parcels (family size for 4 person), 55 tons of drinking water, 190 mattresses, 356 blankets, 210 kg clothes. By the Macedonian Red Cross teams there were 36 persons to whom was administered first aid.
In the entire operations involved are 80 persons (volunteers and staff from the Red Cross), 7 mobile teams for first aid and activated is the entire logistics potential of the Macedonian Red Cross.
According the information from the field, Macedonian Red Cross is calling for donations of the following products: canned food, baby food and diapers, drinking water, hygiene items and disinfection items, shovels, rubber boots and buckets.
The donations can be delivered in the Red Cross Warehouses in Momin Potok, Skopje 08-18.00 hours. (Contact phone: 3096 227) and at the elementary school Naum Naumovski Borche, Skopje.
