Spanning I-95, Circuit Bridges Connects Electroacoustic Music from NYC to
Raleigh

September 25, 2014 (NEW YORK, NEW YORK) Circuit Bridges is launching its
second season by collaborating with Arts NOW at North Carolina State
University to present a program featuring electroacoustic music from New
York and North Carolina.

Rodney Waschka (North Carolina State University) and Travis Garrison (East
Carolina University) are curating new fixed media works that will be
presented alongside selections from Circuit Bridges’ recent call for works.

The Arts NOW Series at North Carolina State University presents concerts,
lectures, and other performing arts events for the University community and
the general public. The Arts NOW Series programs feature contemporary work
in the arts: new works, new techniques, new interpretations and contexts,
and new connections to older work. Previous presentations have included
everything from opera premieres to events based on video works to piano
lecture-recitals on mathematics and music to a special event related to
global climate change.

Circuit Bridges is dedicated to highlighting the community of
electroacoustic music creators.  Founded in 2014 by Robert Voisey and under
the artistic direction of David Morneau and Melissa Grey, Circuit Bridges
strives to explore all music under the electroacoustic umbrella. This
includes but not limited to sonic art, radio art, glitch, circuit bending,
electronica, real-time improvisation, network performance, audiovisual
composition, mash-up, and data sonification. Its mission is to connect with
artists from around the globe to present the wealth of electroacoustic music
being written today.

This concert will feature a performance by Miolina, the New York violin duo
of Mioi Takeda and Lynn Bechtold.  Milona recently performed for the opening
of The Morbid Anatomy Museum.

Other living composers on this concert include Keith Allegretti, Stephen
Anderson, Lynn Bechtold, Thomas Rex Beverly, Daniel Blinkhorn, Lin
Culbertson, Josué Collado Fregoso, Travis Garrison, Melissa Grey, Elainie
Lillios, Scott Lindroth, Bill Seaman, John Supko, Rodney Waschka, and Lee
Weissert.
