CURRICULUM VITAE

Ana Gaceva (1978, Skopje, Macedonia) graduated in Piano Performance as the best student of the Faculty of Music of Saints Cyril and Methodius University (Skopje) in 2000. She earned her Master degree at the same Faculty in 2004 in the class of Prof. Stela Sleanska. Ana Gaceva successfully completed in 1996 the renowned Mozarteum Summer Academy in Salzburg, in Prof. Acqilles Delle Vigne’s class.

From 1999 to 2002 Ana Gaceva studied at the Ecole Normale Superieure de Musique Alfred Cortot in Paris, under the mentorship of world famous professors Ramzi Yassa and Chantal Debuchy, earning her Diplome Superieur as well as the Diplome de Concertiste, the highest Postgraduate Diploma in Performance. During her time in Paris, she also studied with Monique Deschaussees, one of the most prominent assistants of the most legendary pianist and Professor Alfred Cortot.

In 2008, Ana Gaceva completed the first PhD on piano performance in Macedonia, in the class of Prof. Emeritus Simon Young (Trinity College of Music, London, UK) and Prof. Dimitrije Buzarovski (Faculty of Music, Ss. Cyril and Methodius University, Skopje, Macedonia).

Since 2004 Ana Gaceva works as permanent piano professor. First at the Faculty of Music of the Tetovo University and then, since 2010, at the Faculty of Music of Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje. In 2005, she won a European Union Tempus Mobility grant and had a short stay as visiting professor at the Trinity College of Music (London, UK).

In 2008, Ana Gaceva published her first book titled “Piano Techniques in Concerts from world renowned Composers-Pianists”.

Ana Gaceva is considered as one of the most prominent piano soloists in Macedonia. She performed with orchestras such as: the Macedonian National Philharmonic Orchestra, the Youth International Chamber Orchestra, the Russian Orchestra “Musica Viva”, the Orchestra of Modern Music “Sveta Sofija”, at renowned festivals in Macedonia: Ohrid Summer Festival, Skopje Summer Festival, Days of Macedonian music, Autumnal music festivities, Stip Summer Festival as well as at international festivals abroad: Piranske Glazbene Veceri (Slovenia), Les Concerts de Midi & Demi (France), Zagreb Summer Evenings (Croatia), Hvar Summer Festival and Makarska Summer Festival (Croatia) etc.

Gaceva played in prominent concert halls and institutions as a soloist and chamber musician, in Paris, Kiev, Zagreb, Vienna, Ljubljana, Portoroz, Logatec, Dresden, Hvar, Salzburg, Sofia, Belgrade, Plovdiv etc… She has recorded music for the Macedonian National Radio and Television Skopje, National television of Croatia and Television of Slovenia.

Gaceva is a member of the Association of Music Artists of Macedonia since 2000. She was a member of the managing boards of the Macedonian National Philharmonic Orchestra 2007-2011) and the Culture and Information Center of Skopje (2002-2006).
